Director of Operations
Ghislaine (Gigi) van de Laarschot brings the vibrant energy of Curacao to Sugarbabies, ensuring our operations run smoothly with island flair. With a Berklee College of Music degree and an MBA, she blends sharp business expertise with a musician's precision to expertly manage logistics and operations. From behind the scenes, Gigi ensures that every detail comes together seamlessly, delivering an exceptional experience for every client.
Jon Behar
Director of Sales
Jonathan Behar has been at the heart of the weddings and events industry since 2012, starting as a member of Them Apples Band and growing into his role as Director of Sales. With over a decade of experience across nearly every role, Jon has a proven knack for helping clients choose the perfect band and entertainment services to fit their event. His industry expertise, creative background as a musician and performer, and approachable style ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish. When he's not working, he's a horror movie enthusiast and a proud cat dad!
Daniel Peart
Talent Manager
Daniel Peart is the driving force behind recruiting and developing the exceptional talent that defines Sugarbabies. A Berklee College of Music graduate and former Sugarbabies band member, Daniel is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist with over two decades of experience in live performance. As Talent Manager, Daniel identifies top-tier musicians and provides the training they need to become elite performers. His focus on showmanship, precision and professionalism ensures that every Sugarbabies performance exceeds client expectations.
Lyle Shaw
Sales Associate
Lyle Shaw joined Sugarbabies Inc. in 2018 as a guitarist for Them Apples Band, later managing the Sugarbabies Band from 2019 to 2023 while performing on multiple instruments. A Berklee College of Music graduate in Music Therapy, Lyle combines his interpersonal skills, expert knowledge of music entertainment, and approachable, upbeat attitude to understand each client's vision and guide them to the perfect entertainment solutions.
Alain Merville
Owner
Alain Merville immigrated from Haiti to the U.S. at the age of seven, carrying a passion for music and a vision for success. While attending Berklee College of Music, he began his entrepreneurial journey at 24, co-founding a band that became part of the renowned Sugarbabies company. With experience as a Berklee professor, a successful business exit in his 20s, and leading a music tech company that collaborated with celebrity musicians and major music brands, Alain brings a unique blend of artistry and innovation to Sugarbabies.
